I'm not sure whether to ask Sue or Alaine this question, so I will ask you both - is it possible to get a track listing for the CD that I bought at the workshop? There are a couple of songs on there that I am unfamiliar with, and I would love to find out who the artists are.

Re: Australian Workshops CD
Fri, February 3, 2006 - 2:19 PMThat is actually a question for my lovely dance partner, Beth. She is the music guru and I'd be dancing to old 80's tunes if it weren't for her amazing ear.
Which songs in particular (we can probably do this from the track number)? -

Re: Australian Workshops CD
Fri, February 3, 2006 - 3:24 PMheh, we might still dance to some old 80s tunes yet! Suebee, which CD is this? I think I gave you a couple. -

Sat, February 4, 2006 - 3:07 PMThe tracks are numbers six, eight and nine. They are fabulous!
And there is nothing wrong with eighties tunes.
(says she who just found an arabic version of "Rock the Casbah" *grin*) -

Re: Australian Workshops CD
Wed, February 8, 2006 - 11:23 AMHey Mirahmar,
Here you go:
Track 6: Karsh Kale, "Liberation" on the CD titled "Liberation" (his second CD, if you don't count the remix of his first)
Track 8: Fun Da Mental, "Ja Sha Taan," which can be found on the Asian Travels Volume 1 compilation (Fun Da Mental has their own CDs also, but they may be hard to find).
Track 9: Nickodemus, "Cleopatra in New York," which we got from a DJ friend of ours, but I understand it can be found on the Hotel Costes Volume 3 CD. And I swear I've heard it on another compilation CD somewhere but the name is escaping me. I'll let you know if it comes to me.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

YES!! *Most* of my favorite music came from suggestions from Beth!
You can download Fun da Mental on e-music. Most of their stuff doesn't sound like "Ja Sha Taan," though!
"Cleopatra in New York," is also on Sahara Lounge. Do you have that one Beth?
I just got a new CD from Turkey that I think you might like... some of it is a tad... err, um, disco! But there are a couple good songs. -

Wed, February 8, 2006 - 6:13 PMa-ha! Sahara Lounge. I knew the answer would come to me one way or the other. ;-) I believe I do have that one.
Bring on the disco!!!
Beka, I was just thinking about you--hope you are doing well.
Hugs,
Beth -
