It’s May! The time of year when a belly dancer’s thoughts turn to…Tribal Fest!!!
I mentioned earlier that our own Sue Erokan is co-teaching a workshop with Michael McElhaney of Azure. Their class, “hip combos,” focuses on some of our favorite hip work, and there’s still time to sign up!
The class description can be found at: www.blacksheepbellydance.com/tf6...html
Workshop location:
Sebastopol Community Center, Main Auditorium
390 Morris Street
Sebastopol, CA 95472
To sign up:

And, of course we're performing too!
Saturday, May 20, TRIBAL FEST PERFORMANCES, Sebastopol
Clandestine/Azure performs 1:54-2:14 p.m.
AND Beth and Sue perform in Bastet’s set directly afterward, at 2:16-2:46 p.m.
Admission: $15, all ages
Clandestine is excited to join forces with Azure Tribal Bellydance once more this year, in an exciting blended set that showcases the differences and similarities between our two groups.
Afterward, Beth and Sue of Clandestine will take part in the tribal extravaganza performance hosted by Bastet, a half-hour set featuring 2-minute vignettes from oodles of different tribal performers, followed by a group improvisation at the end—last year there were so many of us that we overflowed off the stage and into the aisles of the audience! This year’s performers include Bastet, Beth and Sue of Clandestine, Shawna Rai of Natya Hara, Amy Sigil of Unmata, Atash Maya, Belly Groove, Danger Sassy Pants, and Krysten.

Tue, May 2, 2006 - 10:57 AMOh, I love watching Mira dance. I remember her from the Aywah! days...they were one of my favorite troupes. I wish Katarina still taught.
mmmmfashion show. :-)
The Clandestine girls are all staying overnight on Friday night, but when it rains it pours...Saturday is also my boyfriend's birthday, so I just can't take off for the whole weekend. I'd feel too guilty.
Also, Himalayan Fair in Berkeley is the same weekend. I'm trying to dream up some way to go to everything!!

Re: Tribal Fest 2006 approaches!
Tue, May 2, 2006 - 8:25 PMThis is very cool. There is a Romani Festival happening the same week-end as Tribal Fest. And it is not far away from the Fest.
The people who put it on are very good friends of Kajira and mine. They are extending their event to Saturday night from 9pm to 12pm!!
There will be live music and dancing and all kinds of cool stuff.
Check out their web site for more info:
www.voiceofroma.com
We will work out a deal for people who have stamped hands from Tribal Fest to get in that night.
We will also have a special deal for people who attend Tribal Fest and who want to go during the day to their festival "Herdeljezi"
We will update this post as we get more details. But it should be fun.
